Privacy policy
Most of what you do in Sparello stays on your device or in your own iCloud account. The app requires no account, and what's stored in our cloud is kept under a random ID that can't be linked to you.
Who we are
Sparello is run as a sole proprietorship (registered as Enela). If you have questions about your privacy, feel free to reach out via the contact page.
What we store and why
Your settings – such as price area, fees, saving tips and times – are stored locally on your device. If you use iCloud, they're also synced between your devices through your own iCloud account. Apple handles the sync and we can't read it.
| What | Why | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Your settings for your EV, fees and EV notifications, plus a push token for your device | Send notifications for EV charging | Consent |
| Your subscription status, linked to an anonymous purchase ID | Handle your Plus purchase | Contract |
| Usage and crash data that can't be linked to you | Understand how the app is used and find bugs, so we can improve it | Legitimate interest |
| Your message, your email address (if you provide it) and technical details about the app and your device | Reply to your message and improve the app | Legitimate interest |
| Technical information via Google reCAPTCHA (on the website) | Protect the electricity price and contact pages against automated abuse | Legitimate interest |
Who we share with
We don't sell your data. Some providers process data on our behalf – some of them outside the EU, under the EU's rules for data transfers:
- Google (Firebase) – cloud storage, statistics and crash reports
- Google (AdMob) – ads in the free version
- Apple – push notifications and iCloud sync of settings (in your own iCloud account)
- RevenueCat – purchases and subscriptions
- SMTP2GO – sends and receives email
How long we keep it
| What | How long |
|---|---|
| Settings on your device | Until you delete the app |
| Settings in iCloud | As long as they're in your iCloud account |
| EV notifications (settings + push token) | Removed when you turn the notification off or when your Plus ends |
| Support emails | As long as we need them to handle your inquiry |
| Usage and crash data | Deleted automatically, after 14 months at most |
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to, among other things, see, correct and delete data about you, get a copy of it and object to how it's processed. Most of this you control directly in the app – cloud data for EV notifications, for example, is removed when you turn the notification off. For anything else, just get in touch, and if you have a complaint you can turn to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).
Ads in the free version
The free version shows ads through Google AdMob. With Plus, the app is completely ad-free.
The first time you use the app, you choose how ads may be shown. You can change your choice at any time under Privacy options in the app's settings. Personalized ads are only shown if you consent. The app does not track you across other apps and websites.
To show ads, Google may process things like your IP address (approximate location), device information and ad views. The ad partners that may process data are listed in the consent form. Read more in Google's privacy policy.
No profiling from us
We don't make automated decisions about you or build our own profiles of you.
Changes
If anything in this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above. For bigger changes, we'll let you know in the app.
